Read the negative feedbacks. One of the guys states that he opened it up and it is nothin more than a transistor and a couple of wires. I would be skepitcal, my thought process is if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
There are IAT vs. timing tables in our PCMs. But I don't recall that table adding timing for cold temperatures, I only remember it pulling timing for hot temperatures. If someone is really interested I'll grab the laptop out of the car and post up some concrete info. I also recall that IAT was used in the PCM somewhere in relation to the MAF, possibly to increase calculated airflow into the motor when it's colder outside? If that's true then the other effect this would have (besides notching timing up (or not decreasing it as easily)) is that the car would run richer than normal.
Oh, none of that changes the fact that it IS a waste of money. They spent more on the sticker and box than they did on the internals, which is almost certainly just a resistor calibrated to trick your computer into thinking that the outside air temperature is colder, allowing it to run more aggressively.
Think about it ... our engines (both LS1 and LS6) qualify as LEV (Low Emission Vehicle) which means that they are VERY efficient at burning the fuel fed into them. More power means you gotta burn more fuel ... and in their own FAQ they say ...
"Does it increase or decrease my MPG?
No, your gas mileage will be the same. Any change is virtually unnoticed."
Well ... figure it out ... if you ain't burning more fuel .... you ain't getting more power ..... their claims are absolute
