Two weeks ago my buddy was driving home from a friends house, the friend lived about 8 miles away and he was about 2 miles away from home when the following happened. He was getting off the highway and according to him, "fell asleep", which I'm sure it had nothing to do with the beers he was kicking back and the fact he "blew" twice the legal limit. His Uncle was right behind him and watched the whole thing go down. He went highway speed, say 70Mph, threw two signs, continued down the ramp, drove straight across the intersectign street and into a big wooded area. He bounced tree to tree destroying his vehicle!! There must have been an angel on his lap because he didn't hit anybody crossing the intersecting street, he wasn't wearing his seatbelt, he was thrown from the vehicle, he misssed every tree and only ended up with two fat lips and some soreness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He walked away from this without even a hospital visit!!! By far the luckiest person I have ever met. SO here are 18 Great Reasons NOT to Drink and Drive!! http://community.webshots.com/album/557002165Khhhno
I hope everyone can learn a lesson from this. It doesn't matter how close you are to home, what you're driving or who you're with, it can and will happen. I know this isn't a Vette but it's a message to eveyone out there to be safe!! Dan
An incredible amount of damage however the passenger compartment is intact, no doubt the reason he survived.
Yeah, after looking at that truck I would by a Full Size Chevy any day of the week!! The cab was in great shape amazingly!! But he was actually thown out the passenger window and missed every tree in a heavly wooded area!!! Amazingly lucky!!
Good message. Most drunk drivers will never admit that they were intoxicated even when the evidence is overwhelming. It is lucky he did not kill someone else while he was "asleep." Many think that the booze does not affect their ability to drive.

Saddest part about it, he was looking for some beer the next morning!! Wanted to shoot him!! some people will never learn!!

How 'bout a anonymous call to his insurance company telling them he was driving drunk... Maybe if he doesn't get everyone else to pay for his mistake, he'll think twice next time.

No, insurance is well aware, he was hit with the DWI, aressted, lost his job, wife is super heated with him, the whole bit, but some people just don't learn. We've tried talking and will continue. Thanks, Dan
When I was first looking at the pictures, I THOUGHT I was looking at a Ford Ranger (thats how messed up that truck is)...then i saw the interior shots and realized that it was a full size chevy
I work in the seatbelt business so seeing this, let me tell you, this guy is REDICULOUSLY lucky...it looks to me that the interior cabin is still in OK condition but damnnnnnnnn LUCKY barely even scratches the surface....

What is that supposed to mean??
Not going to happen to me.
I hope your buddy go tossed in jail, he desrved it and I hope he lost his driving privileges. I'd be willing to bet neither of those happened but they SHOULD have.

He is lucky to be alive and hopefully you will be able to get him to see the light
From what I can gather, and this is the sad part, he will drink and drive again. He was very lucky he didn't kill someone and he is also an idiot.
I have no sympathy what so ever for those that drink and drive. They are inconsiderate fools with a problem that, for most, will never seek help for unless forced too.
