Haven't heard much of anything on those three brands. Most here go with LGs, Kooks, American Racing or Dynatech. Long tube headers would be the way to go - they just deliver more power than the short tube ones do. They are more expensive, but in this case you get better performance for the extra money.
Sea Bass your in CA, so unless you know of an inspector that has bad eyes, you may need the shortys. I went with ceramic coated pace setter shortys as my fisrt mod for how easily they bolt right in.
yes long tubes do more across the board compared to shortys, but I bought mine used for $400.00 and that left me a lot of money to do more mods and install a nice sound system. I have a custom exhaust and X-pipe for a total investment of $766.00 including labor. Not to mention I shed 33 pounds. Heres a link to my exhaust:
I have a dyno run scheduled for Wednesday so I'll see where I am at HP/torque wise. I will be going to Long tubes soon so hopefully I 'll have a good comparison.
Need what ever info i can get on the following headers
1. JBA
2. PACESETTERS
3. BBK
While long tubes are better.... here in Ca. it's against the smog rules to alter the Cats in anyway. So if you want to make sure you can pass a smog test, long tubes are not an option
Even though all shorty headers would not affect the cats, they will also need an executive order number to be exempt from CARB (California Air Resources Board) requirements.
Don't know about Pacesetters but I know for a fact that JBA has an exemption order and I believe BBK does too.
I've been wavering about installing shorties on my Z06. Not sure of the cost/benefit. But I know people who have high opinions (unfortunately they are Ford people ) of JBA and their products.
JBA has three types of shorties for the Vette: stainless steel, ceramic coated, and titanium coated. Their wbsite will give you info and vendor links
I am in CA and considering shortys to keep the vehicle legal. I am sure I could find a smog shop that would pass long tubes but I feel staying within the law is important. B&B is supposed to have the best performing shorties according to others on this site however they only come in stainless (not ceramic, al least that I have seen) and I have not seen any dyno sheets for the B&B's. The B&B's are also very expensive.
JBA has ceramic headers and are direct replacements for the stock manifilds. Their site has a dyno sheet as well. Their price is high but about $300 cheaper than the B&B's from what I have found and their quality looks pretty good.
I would expect a minimum of 10 RWHP from shorties, maybe more on my '97 as the manifold is inferior to later Corvette years. Most indicate 30% more air flow over stock with shortys.
