Default Tire Sizes

I am need a little help with tire sizes. I am looking for a set of 18" tires that are either 335 or 345 in with, but I am not sure about the height offset. I will be running them with 245/45/17 up front and I would like to keep the wheel ratio about the same as stock. What size tires would do this?

TIA,
Keith

To match up with the OEM fronts (245/45x17) it's going to be hard to get a 1" ONLY stagger with a tire the width you are looking for.
I would guess you'd end up about 1.5" difference when going to a 335/35x18 rear.

The stock 275-40x18 is approximately 26.6" in overall height. The 335-30x18 is approximately 25.94" in overall height - which translates to a difference of .66 or 2/3". The front 245-45x17 is 25.7 " overall height so you would maintain the stagger front to back.

BTW - the 335 tire needs between an 11.5"-12.5" wide wheel to fit properly.

I'm running a 275/40-17 in front and a 295/35-18 on my 02 and the stagger is correct. The wheels are OEM chromed Z06.

Going to a 335 or bigger tire (and a wider wheel to handle that size) will wind up with the tread sticking out past the fender.

The tires will be going a 18x12 wheel and the car will be tubbed If a 335-30x18 is approximately 25.94", they a 345/30/18 will work out a little better. Thanks for all the replies.

I'm also a little confused with all this "off set" info....If I have wheels that are 18x9.5 front and 19x11 rears what size tires would you suggest to be the right off set and ride smooth? Or is this question too broad to answer?

For 19x11 wheels, a 68mm offset will line up the wheel edges with the fender. If you go with a 12" wide rim, you will need an offset about 79mm. I have a fair number of docs that discuss various offsets for various sized wheels. Let me know if you want a copy

You must be referring to a different thread. There has been no mention in this particular post about offsets...
