Default chrome alternators ?????

I'm looking to have a chromed alternator round-out my latest underhood mods.

For some strange reason, locating chrome alternators for C5's is becoming a task

I could either purchase one already chromed...Jegs and others sell entire chrome alternators, but none that I could find that are direct swaps for the C5. The ones they sell are (mostly) called the "one wire" variety and are made for custon hot-rod applications. They would not be a direct swap for the C5

Or maybe send my own alternator to be chromed. Local chromers won't touch it unless I completely strip it (including the windings, bearings...). Even then they seem hesitant to work with the bare case halves.

any sources for either source would be appreciated.

That pulley is nice, but it doesn't apprear to have the integrated one-way clutch. I'll email Ecklers and get more details.

Thanks for all the responses !

Tim,

That is by far the best way to go. I looked into chroming a bunch of alternators for CCA. Turns out they are Mdl specific to several years and also to manual or automatic. In other words there are 6 different alts. for C5's. If you don't get the right one, you will have problems...

Peace
Chip

I also had my alternator chromed at Metron Chrome and would highly reccomend them. You can either send them yours or buy one direct from them.
Ed, the company president, is a great guy to do business with and is a fellow corvette owner.
