Default Feedback on my 98

Hello...My wife and I purchased a 98 Conv. in Oct 06'. This is my second Corvette. My first was an 84'. I'd like to get some feedback on the 98'. It has 16,650 miles on it and is an automatic. Is there anything that I should be aware of or take a closer look at in order to keep her in top notch condition? I just got the car and have not spent that much time with it. Thanks.

congrats - check out one of the top posts in this forum - its title is something like weights, measurments, etc.. - the first thing I would check for is leakage around the battery - those early AC Delcos liked to do that...

And check into the column lock bypass(clb)kits, that's another inherent problem with the c-5's

Other than that..........you should have a good ride

Congrats! 98 is the best year! (see sig)

With miles that low I would carefully check all the rubber. Also check around the left side of the differential for oil leakage. While not specific to the 98's, a lot of these leak somewhat.

Other than that, don't ever log into the forum again. It will cost you lots of money in mods. Don't ask me how I know.

Just check the things you would normally check on a car - hoses, belts, fluids, brakes, any leaks, etc. Good luck with the car.

I have a 98 C5 and love it. Drove it from northcentral Pa down to Miami Fl last May. Very comfortable and got over 26 miles to the gallon on the 3300 mile trip.

I bought a 98 Vert this past August. This is my 3rd. Vette and I really love it. I have had no problems with my car. There were very few recalls on the 98. However, I would check to make sure that they have been completed. Good Luck with the car.

My only trouble was a leaky differential. It only leaked after driving at freeway speeds, didn't seem to do it around town.

The only problems that I ever had were column lock and a bad turn signal switch, both which ocurred only on my first '98. Otherwise no problems with the five other C5's that I owned. Great cars

I'm on the Island also. Do you belong to a club? I bought my car from Ramp in Oct. 06'. I stopped there to see a yellow Z06. Then I saw my 98 Convert w/ 16,500 miles. Bought and drove it through the "extended season."
