I had the same question a while back and found threads explaining how to adjust. I think what you have to do is to back the car up and then use the emergency brake to stop it. You'll probably hear some clicks. Do this three times. This automatically adjusts the emergency brakes.
I'm sure there are some other information on the Forum that's more technically correct than what I just gave you.
i just got done installing my new rotors. i have also just adjusted my parking brake because i could pull it all the way up to 90* and it would still not hold the car.
here you can see the little adjuster thing.
i started out with zero gap between the top of the adjuster and the body of it. by knocking the little notches back with a flathead screwdriver and a hammer, i was able to extend the body until the new rotor fit snugly on it but still turned freely.
the e-brake handle now comes fully engaged at 45* or so and i CANNOT push the car in neutral anymore.
Boy, I wonder if it would be worth the effort to drill a 3/8" hole behind the adjuster wheel so they could be adjusted without removing the rotor? I'm sure a rubber plug could be found to cover the hole.
