So if you were planning a trip in a week or so, to go 3/4's the way across the country for pleasure purposes, would you:
A) Drive your Vette for the round trip 3600 mile adventure.
B) Fly SWA and save the miles, wear & tear on the Vette, and get an extra fews days to lounge at home afterwards?
Choice "B" but reworded to say:
"Fly SWA and save the miles, wear & tear on the Vette, and get an extra fews days to lounge at home afterwards to spend some quality time with the Vette".

Putting those miles on the car will not be a major deduction on the car's value. Heck, it was made to be driven. The thing I would worry about is what the weather would be like along the route. With this being winter, no telling what you might run into. As much as it would be fun to drive the Vette, I think I would just fly. Now if it were summer, it would be a different story.
Iam planning a trip from Houston to somewhere in Colorado in a few months , simply to drive and enjoy the roads. It will only be about 2500 miles but I can't wait... so driving for me .
One of the other vette forums is planning a cruise-in in June to Colorado Springs. Planning on driving "in" from the left coast; hopefully in caravan with other vettes. Approx 1200 miles one-way plus additional cruising miles at the event.
Taking Hwy 50 through Nevada and part of Utah. Not much out there. Cruised at 120-125 in my Nissan Altima last year. Then I chickened out and slowed to 90. Even took it down to 55 once...damn THAT was SLOW!!! Wonder what kind of speeds I'd get to in the vette?
