I am looking for thoughts/opinions on getting my 98 serviced. It is garaged in Arizona and only gets driven an average of 150 miles per month (less than 2k a year), all highway miles.
Should I still have any type of yearly service done? Since my last service, one year ago, I'm at 65 percent. Thanks for any input.
I drove my car a whooping 300 miles last year and just had my oil changed last week. The service department guy kept checking the mileage to see if he had it recorded correctly
Last year the car reached the 5 year mark and all the fluids were flushed and changed
Drive the car, that's the best maint. you can do. Like it has been said, it's not going to be a museum piece. Enjoy the car, that's what it was meant. It's driving me nuts knowing my car is sitting in the garage because winter has set in in Northeast Ohio... can't wait until spring arrives.....

I want to thank all the owners of the Garage Queens for keeping their cars like new. I just bought a 99FRC w/13,000 miles for $18,000. It's nice to know their are plently of mint condition C5's out there for us to buy when the owners get bored of storing the queens.

Thanks to all for the comments. I will make sure to get a yearly service done. That's what I have been doing, but I just wanted to see if there was anything specific to look for on a car that doesnt get driven much. Thanks.

Keep a close eye on your tires - if they are sitting on concrete here in Arizona, they'll dry out and crack before you ever wear them out. Belts and hoses too will dry rot.
One other tip that I heard on Barrett-Jackson last night.
For cars that sit almost all the time, don't close the doors and/or trunk all the way. That way the weatherstripping doesn't get worn out from being compressed all the time.
Sell the car to someone that will DRIVE it! Use the money to buy a piece of art, a picture, statue, or some other item that you can sit and stare at! Ron

A couple of thoughts on the above:
-make sure you disconnect your battery b4 doing this.
-Depending on your location and how much you leave any of these open this might allow some small creature looking for a home to get into your vehicle.
I personally prefer to:
-Disconnect my battery anyway for winter storage.
-Leave all doors and windows closed with something in passenger cabin to absorb any moisture, like silica gel. This way there are no surprise guests inside.
-once a year I simply apply GM weather stripping lube to prevent cracking. I am not worried about having this compressed by normal use, hell this is what they were developed for.

You're welcome! I've already been offered more for my 1998 "garage queen" with 20,000 miles on the odometer than I paid for it.
