Hope someone can help me out here... Plan on adjusting both my driver & passenger doors, going to lower them just a bit to improve the panel spacing, etc. (Yeah I know, I know... It's a Corvette). Anyway, I remember a thread that covered how to do it but I can't seem to find it... A search turns up nothing much as well
Can anyone point me in the right direction, any tips or techniques? What short of tools are required & more importantly what are the torque values for the bolts?
Unless there is a big difference in spacing, it is better to leave it alone...if you close in one space you will open up another at the bottom or other end or top window... vertically or horizontally...
You will lose window seal at the top. I had a door repair and passenger side window leaks. Took it back to body shop and they "fixed it" but now it leaks again. Wind noise and some water if hose is sprayed directly on it.
Went ahead and made the adjustment... It took five hours to get everything aligned (both doors) Yes I asked for it & yes it was a royal PITA. The net result... everything is aesthetically more please (for me anyway) and the wind noise I had previously is now gone... go figure. Did the leak check by blasting the window seals with a hose and its nozzle set to “jet”, no leaks so far... The real test will be the DIY pressure washing wand

Honestly no real skill involved just patients... Think I got lucky as well!!! If I had to do it over again I'd remove the front fenders first & then make all the adjustments. I bet it's a lot easier that way. What helped the most in this case was using a jack to support the door & my wife to help fine tune as I set the fasteners (she’s actually a CPA but doesn't mind help'n with Vette tweaks occasionally ).
