I need to remove the plastic inner fender from my passenger side front wheel well of my '03 Z06. I'm talking about the part on the back side. It's held in place by 8 or so screws of varying size extending from inside the rear most part of the wheel well to under the passenger seat. However, at the top of the piece there appears to be some sort of fastener that I see no way to remove except pulling it out. It's black plastic and looks like the top of a screw/washer combo except it isn't slotted to accept a screwdriver and it isn't hex. The washer part appears to be maybe 3/4" in diameter. I tried gently prying on it and I heard very quiet cracking noises so I quit. That could be grit being pressured or it could be the fastener breaking.
Anyone know how I can get this part of without breaking it? If I break it will it be a simple replacement part that I push back into place? TIA
The inner liner is glued to the frame. Does not come off easly.
Other parts are bolted with a 7mm or smal torxs bolt ( dont rember the size)
that area you are talking about is under the battery. and is accessable in the passanger compartment foot board. It just lifts out with a little tug. Your computer is there

Thanks but that's not where I need to go. I was removing the battery tie down clip when my socket fell off and fell into the hole right there. I need to remove the inner fender that isn't glued down to get at it. I've tried a magnet but I can't see the socket.
No, if you look there's a gap between some metal bracing in that area and it leads directly to the back side of the inner fender. The socket fell through there. Luckily for me my eagle-eyed wife came out to see what was up and spotted "something shiny" on top of the rocker panel lip under the passenger side--sort of near the jacking puck area. By pulling away the inner fender I created enough gap to snake a magnet up there and get it back. Thanks for the help.
