This dyno for a camaro shows that removing 8lbs unsprung weight per wheel results in a gain of 8hp/9lbs torque
at every rpm, not just at peak

horsepower

On my car (2017 Corvette Stingray not z51 with M7), Non Runflats are 5lbs lighter per wheel which will bring my car's weight down from 3300lbs to 3280lbs (unsprung weight has 3x factor compared to sprung weight so it'll be like removing 60lbs.
Then when I need a new battery in 6 months, I'll get the 18lbs lighter Braille Lightweight battery...does
anyone have experience with these https://www.braillebattery.com/index...s/lithium_ion?
In total, it'll feel like 78lbs lighter so the vette will feel like 3222lbs.

Based on this article of how much hp is gained from my car losing 78lbs is 11hp:
http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...-weight-ratio/ OR 8hp gained if I only did the non runflats.

If I could afford $12k for a set of carbon fiber wheel barrels or 1 piece from CarbonRevolution, that would
save 15lbs per wheel x 4 wheels = 60lbs unsprung weight equates to 180lbs sprung weight.
Imagine removing 78lbs earlier from non runflats and Braille lightweight battery + 180lbs carbon fiber
wheels = 258lbs removed.
Removing 258lbs would be like increasing 39hp so the vette would feel like it has 504hp!

Just to clarify the above post...HP gain is WHP and not crank (for any that should want to jump on him for his HP gain comment). Unpsrung weight is the overlooked performance gain. I've seen guys spend hundred$ to gain an extra 5 to 10 HP and then throw a set of boat anchors on their car because they look good.

by summer, I'll get non runflat tires and lighter batteries for -78lbs
I lost 15lbs since heart attack 6 months ago
Total= -93lbs which is like a person so I do feel a difference when I don't carry anyone in my car.
