Default New Clutch?

I'm looking at purchasing a new clutch... my current clutch has about 70k miles on it. Now it isn't slipping yet, but i've noticed it's definately grabbing much later in the pedal throw. I can feel now how it bites during the last inch of travel, as apposed to much earlier in travel like it used to...

So, if i'm going to R&R my clutch what's a good affordable piece to replace it with.

The install will probably be around 600 bucks, so i'm not looking for a $900 textrilla OC700 or whatever that will hold ten million lb-ft of torque...

I'd like a factory replacement clutch for a ~400hp LS1 that's cheap and practical considering my daily driving application.

Thanks,
Dan

Just get the 04 Z06 one or the C6 Z06 one and you will be fine and make sure you get a new slave and through out bearing while you are at it

The slave is already new... had to R&R it after i broke the hyrdaulic line during my header install..

Where do i order such devices? I see lots of folks typing "I ordered this 04 Z06 clutch." or "I installed my LS7 Clutch" etc, but no mention of where they got it, if any special modification was required, or how much it costs. heh. Mostly i'm interested in where to get these things, and whats a reasonable price for them. Searching google has been marginally helpfull...

I found a site (carolinaclutch) that carries an OE clutch kit for a '97-04 vette for around $370. Seems like a pretty good deal. The OE clutch works for me now, and has lasted approx 70k miles, don't see why i need a $1000 one when a $400 one works fine for me.

I would go ahead and either order from Carolian clutch or give Fred Beans a call as they are a forum sponsor, with you driving and mods the stocker should be just fine

The Z06 clutch should work just fine.

The LS6 is good but the LS7 is only a few more dollars. I sell them for 398.05 + shipping for the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.

Thanks!

See the only quotes i saw on the LS7 clutch were closer to $500... so either what you're selling is missing something i'd need to complete the job and would have to buy elsewhere, or what they're selling is way over priced... lol

Had you hit me w/ that price on tuesday you would've likely sold a LS7 clutch, however at this point i've already purchased the other one. Thanks for the quote though...
