I'm probably the only member with a Sony and love it. I would ask anyone "looking" to go to both Sony.com to gather info and the "auction site" for more info/feedback. One of the features I like is the 8 hour Lithium ion battery built in (you still plug it into your cigar lighter) but can walk around with it for 8+ hours on it's battery alone. Also it's totally touch screen operated, comes with everything you ever need including a very versatile mount and with supplied USB cable can be PC loaded for future upgrades. I bought mine from Best Buys and got a $100 rebate that brought the price down to less than $400. I've never been disappointed with anything Sony, This included. Check it out, Sony NV-U70. I don't know why their aren't more of these being used in here? PS. The voice commands are very precise, understandable and happen at the appropriate time.
Work is buying me a GPS and considering my price restrictions and recommendations from others, I'm getting either the Garmin c340 or 550, depending on how much works pays. There are other options out there but for what I want either will work.
I keep my Magellan 720 (upgraded to a 730) suctioned cupped to the windshield with the unit up on the dash. Not very pretty looking up there, but easy to see.
If I had it down low, it was just too awkward to have a quick look at it if I was in traffic. Voice helps, but it sure helps to see the route.
Hey thanks guys for your input. I'm should be making the purchase in the next week or two. We are headed to NCM end of May for Crusin 8 and we are taking the two vettes. So having this in mine and the wife behind me I shouldn't have to hear her complain I didn't know where I was going or I made a wrong turn, you know what I mean.
And being I just sold our old coal stove tonight for 400 makes the decision to go with the 660 a little easier.
Thanks again guys. Anyone else have opinions please chime in.
I have a Lowrance Iway 350 that I move from my company car to the vette and love it. It's not as compact as some of the other brands out there, but I like the bigger screen.
and I have my tunes on an SD card in it - the directions and music are transmitted thru the stereo, so no problem hearing them over wind noise....
I know that this might not exactly be what you had in mind...but for about $369 and a half of a Saturday you can put a Garmin Streetpilot in like this:

Well I made my move and purchased the Nuvi 660. We took it out today in the DD and we were both quite impressed on the working of it. MP3 over FM to the stereo not too bad but could be better. Bluetooth worked very well. And of course the Navagation element was great. We even tried to get it confused by taking another route home versus the one it wanted us to take and it always recalculated a new route back to our house. So all in all I am pleased with it.

Nice, practical "toy" Right? Just think you will NEVER be lost or not know (at a spontaneous moment in a trip) where you are going ever again. I have Nav in all our cars and use it to go to Doctors offices etc,etc that I've never been to with out any pre trip "chores" other than loading a telephone number or address into the Nav. This is one piece of technology we can thank the military for as it's their satellites we use for GPS. Your tax $ at work.
