GPS Question
I know alot of you have the bulit-in GPS units in your cars but I'm looking at getting a portable GPS that I can move from Vette to Vette, for now. I have been considering the Garmin Nuvi 660 or maybe their new one the Nuvi 670.
I'm interested in what others have been using as portable GPS units in their Vette's.
I had the GARMIN 330c and now have the NUVI 350 and loved them both. You can't go wrong with the NUVI batch at all. Good luck with your choice, I do know that I saw the newer NUVI 660 and loved the size of the screen.

The 660 has a larger screen then the 360 which I think may be worth the extra bucks... It also has traffic alert but only free for the first three months then it's 60 per year I think. That may or may not be an option.
It can be a little hard to hear with the top off. There isn't an external volume **** on the Garmin 350 so it's a bit of a hassle to adjust the volume (you have to go into the touch screen menu). Probably best to just turn up the volume before you leave with the top off. I really haven't messed with the volume much though so it may be easier to use on the road once you have done it enough.
How's the voice directions commands running on the highway with the top off and the windows down. Can you still hear it?
That's one thing that somewhat makes me wonder if I'll hear it say turn this way... I'll probably have to keep the tunes turned down...
I am going to say that I know that with the windows down I have a hard time hearing the voice commands, but typically, I turn down the radio and pay close attention at what I am doing when I have to turn. I will say this, the unit does list what exit or road to turn on and I can read with the windows down and therefore don't worry to much if I can't hear it to well.
I am not a 100% positive, but I think that my 350 has the traffic alerts, but I have to download the software and pay for it too.

Hey thanks guys for your input. I'm should be making the purchase in the next week or two. We are headed to NCM end of May for Crusin 8 and we are taking the two vettes. So having this in mine and the wife behind me I shouldn't have to hear her complain I didn't know where I was going or I made a wrong turn, you know what I mean.
And being I just sold our old coal stove tonight for 400 makes the decision to go with the 660 a little easier.
Thanks again guys. Anyone else have opinions please chime in.
I'm the odd guy here with an Alpine Blackbird , and I can't say enough about it. I switch it from car to car, and take it on trips. It's never let me down.

I have a Lowrance Iway 350 that I move from my company car to the vette and love it. It's not as compact as some of the other brands out there, but I like the bigger screen.
