Escort Detectors
Anyone know what escort detector works the best? I like the idea of the Solo but Im not sure if power makes a difference or not as far as performance.
These are the ones im looking at...
8500 X50 red
8500 X50 blue
Solo S2

The Solo is "weaker" due to the battery power. My regular Escort has saved me many times. It's neat to pick up a X or KA band from over one mile away

There really isn't much difference between the red and blue.

Unless you travel a lot and need the absolute portability, I'd stick to the corded-power units (the X8500's come in a travel case with a suction cup mount and a coiled cigarette lighter power cord so you can easily carry it with you on vacations
).
No difference between the X8500 X50 Red or Blue other than different color LEDs (I have one of each
)...this is per
Escort Radar (see FAQ #10)

The ONLY difference's is the color of the display and price. Blue LED's cost more and it's reflected in the price.

I've read a test that favors the corded Escort.
We have 2 Escorts, they are both cordless and work great.

You mean the ones you call out of your little black book? I think a cop would be one, he might recognize her sitting in my passenger seat
