I have it turned off from the DIC; I think its useless if not potentially harmful.

I have it, I don't use it. I used to have a 2001 Celica and you couldn't turn off the headlights at all in that car.

I have it, it works great for me. When I pull into the garage, I turn it off before it activates. Same thing if I'm leaving and it was on the night before, before I release the PB I turned it off. Otherwise I think it's a great feature. It's part of my checks while the engine warms up. If I'm outside already then it does its job as designed.
