I seem to think that this was offered on Corvette.
Was I dreaming??? I'm not sure wheather it was linked, as an option with the HUD or if it was a stand alone option - anyone know??
Also if it was available is it a retro mod? If so difficulty level of installation?
Thanks for any info.

Yeah, it's an option. My '02 vert has it, but like most who have it, I have disabled it because I'd rather work the lights myself. It's not a very popular option from what I gather...
I have it on my 04 and think it's a pain. Every time I start the car in the garage the lights come on leading to possible problems down the road with the gears/motors. I have mine turned off. I'll have to look to see if it's part of a package on the 04.

Exactly. If I were driving a C6, I'd just leave it on all the time. But I don't like the pop ups getting any more of a workout than necessary. My issue with the Twilight Sentinel would be totally resolved if you could set some sort of a pre-function delay before the lights came on after the sensor thinks they should. Say, a minute or two. That would give you enough time to fire up the engine and back out of the garage into the sunlight, deactivating the feature before it can even turn the lights on. Of course, that wouldn't be so swell if it was night time. I guess the TS could monitor the clock to determine whether it was generally daylight or not, and act accordingly. Okay, I'm making this too complicated. Never mind!

I concur, Mine has it and I haven't used it since the first week of ownership.
To answer your question, yes it WAS an option on the C5 starting in 1999. In '99 & 2000 it was a stand alone option. Starting in 2001 it was avaialble ONLY as part of a package of options.

starting in the garage every time I take it out is a pain in the backside
I am in the minority, I use the twilight sentinel. In the other cars I drive the headlights come on when the engine is on, so I in the habit of not turning on/off head lights. I use twilight sentinel so that I do not accidentally leave my lights on one night. I am not overly concerned about the mechanism wearing out, as the car is under warranty, maybe when the warranty is over I'll change my practice.
