I had valeted my car outside a trendy hotel/club in my city. I felt it should be ok since they like to have hot cars out front it enhances their image. I had left it specifically where it would likely not have to be moved
and they said I could keep the keys..... I was stupid but let them keep the keys. They said it would not have to be moved. When I came back it looked like it was moved slightly then when I started it the DIC was saying the tire pressure was low on the rear tires. I was pretty upset but kept it to myself as my GF was feeling it and telling me not to make a scene. I went to the gas station and the pressure was fine in both tires.
Shortly after that the DIC returned to normal and have not seen this since.... Just curious what they did and what would cause this???
Did you drive it in warmer conditions and pick it up after dark or from the shade after a drop in temp, I have pulled mine out of the 70* garage and parked it, got back in it a couple of hours later in 30* temps and had the same thing happen, low tire pressure, just a thought.

The tire pressure will drop when the ambient pressure drops. If they drove it the pressure may not have been low since it would have heated up the tires and air inside.

When I did a burn out for 5 minutes straight once the DIC said the rear tire pressure dropped, then it was fine when I went to fill them up.
Just kidding, no idea.
Seriously though, any "tires" on the rear fenders? Always always always take note of mileage and take every advantage to protect your car at the valet. And if you're all chill with the valets, they will take advantage of you and will take turns molesting your car knowing you won't do anything about it (and you didn't ); always act uptight about your car.
That was the case I parked it warm and picked it up later when it had cooled down although that has never happened to me before.... I just have doubts when I see it moved for no apparent reason. The valets were scarce at that time of pick up and I tend to think the worst.( Like they ducked into an alley and did a wicked burnout for youtube)

Could have just been a coincidence on the low tire pressure. Maybe they had to move it slightly to accommodate other vehicles too. Just never know. If you valet park it again, write down the mileage. That way you would know if someone took it for a ride.
You could also check with the person in charge of the valet service and see what they have to say about moving the car.
It is so nice to have a bunch of great people who know exactly how I feel
. My GF is like" It is just a car". Which I remind her often that it is not....
This happened at the end of Summer... My Vette hasn't seen the light of day for months. I am waiting for that day in March when I can peel the cover off and take her back out of hibernation. Thanks guys.
I think you're being paranoid. Trust me, a trendy hotel probably sees a lot more exotic/expensive cars then our C5s, and I doubt someone risked their job to take her for a spin. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I think what you described is just a coincidence. Temperature changes and atmospheric changes can cause this to happen, as can parking on an incline or a number of other possibilities.
Oh, and by the way....as much as I love my car, it IS just a car! I'd valet it anyday and make sure I take care of the guys up front.

I guess I didn't really express my point properly... It is of course a car. But it is a beautiful car which I guess I have a greater deal of fondness for. As well as here in the Great White North there are not near as many Vettes up here and they are valued higher as such. Other than that I am in agreement with you Glen... A Toyota Corola, Honda Civic and even a Mustang are all just cars, A Vette in my book will always be something to take great pride in.

I think you're making a big deal out of nothin'. Are you one of those "conspiracy theorists" or something? Look. When you drive the car, the air in the tires heats up and expands. When the car is parked, the air cools off and the pressure drops. Your car was not moved or abused. End of story.

This was the first time this has happened... Just thought I would kick it around the forum... thats all. My car was moved... I think I should know how I parked it. Abused probably not.

That's cool. I didn't mean to come off so harsh. Sure, it may have been moved, but the pressure drop on the tires is nothing to be concerned about.
