Default Do you race?

We hear a lot about racing here, but how many of you really do it? If you have, did you just run it down the track a few times to get a time or do you race on a regular basis?

Never raced but I do enjoy some spirited driving! I still plan to get it on a track one day. Just have to drive 200 miles to get to a decent track.

Never raced my current one, just got it. I'm guessing that you mean Drag racing on a track. I've done a lot of that in the past, running NHRA. Here's a Corvette I raced many years ago. Then went on to faster rides.

The street Corvette's would be a slow ride for me, so I don't plan on doing it. I'll just enjoy a spirited drive on occasion.

I ran the C4 down the race track one night. My spouse has raced his a few times. I will not race the pace car down the track because mainly its a 6 speed and I would probably embarrass myself. However, My hubby & I have challenged each other a few times on the 4 lane (open road no cars around) but let's face it I am a chicken. He has threatened to take the car away if I get a ticket! And I have 3 kids to raise. Now a good hearty take off ever now and then that's not racin' right!

Twice at the track.

Very first time, unfamiliar with the car, wheel hopped my way(lifting three times) to a 12.90@113.

Waited a long time, practiced and spoke to Ranger the night before I snuck to the track on a wednesday night last year. Clicked off a 12.25@117 from a production car. That was enough for me Still had a bit of wheel hop then, but far less.

I'm happy with that!

I run it at the track to see how the new mods helped my time. I don't call it street-racing, I call it educating and there is a difference.

I typically don't mess around on the road, but have been known to "get on it" at times.

Our corvette club goes to the drag races twice a year for a get together and I will take one of my cars.
I will run maybe 6 or 7 times each time we go.

I thoroughly enjoy road racing. I enjoy the thrill of putting the car at it's max lap after lap, head-to-head against other cars.

Never tried the dragstrip...but not sure I have the patience to wait & wait for an 11 second run.

Actually I left that open. I know some drag race and some do road racing so I didn't specify. Either works for the poll.

Have not taken mine to the track as of yet. Hope to get out there this year and at least give it a try.
