Default A Saaad Day

I feel like a dark cloud is raining on my vette!

I had my car at a local dealer (Great service) trying to get a problem fixed that GMPP is not working well with... (Another story)

I get a call today asking if I want the good news or bad news... my stomach got kind of sick.
my car was parked outside of the service bay. It had to be moved while another car was removed then mine was to be placed on the inside lift...
While outside a 1ton chevy truck was backing out w/ a lot porter.

He did not see my vette and backed right into it!

poked a nice hole in the drivers door and smashed the mirror.

I went by to see the damage and it was not as bad as I thought about the size of my hand.
Their Body Shop already estimated it at $1,400 and they are paying to fix it immediately.

needles to say I have a headache now.

That sucks man, sorry to hear... At least the dealer is taking ownership of the issue and correcting it right away! Best of luck!

The dealer seems to be bending over backwards on all that is going on with the car. GMPP is looking like the bad guy. I trust that they will make this right.

By the way the pic you see on the left over there does not look like that anymore. Its kind of like the titanic.

D*MN, I know that hurts, but it was a simple accident and they wil make it better. This may be good in that it gives you a little more leverage to get the real problem fixed up....

Sometimes sh...t happens. At least the dealership took ownership for their screwup and didn't try to blame it on someone or something else. Sounds like a heads up kind of place. I bet you get excellent service from them from here on out.

As much as it sucks, accidents do happen. The good news is that your dealership is stepping right up to repair the damage.

Additional good news is that modern body shop repairs are excellent, if done properly, of course.

Last August, my '06 Equinox received some hail dings on its oh-so-flat hood. The car was almost new and I was afraid the repairs would show -- maybe not at first but certainly after the filler and primer had a change to 'shrink' after a month or so. Seven months later, I'm happy to report the my hood still looks great! Still smooth as glass -- no hint anything happened!

That really does suck, but as mentioned before, at least the dealership is taking care of it.

BTW, for the guys that mentioned it, what does this have to do with the dealership? Could have happened anywhere, people make mistakes and are careless, it is just a good thing that it happened at a place that is taking care of it.

I hope things get fixed very soon.

Is the dealer going to keep it off the record??? They do it when they own the car.
