I have recently used the tinting spray for my taillights...the see thru plastic black out kit looked tacky....
But even before I did the spray I realized my lights were not as bright....now before you say DUH!!!
I am wondering if anyone has replaced there bulbs with after market bulbs..or LED..to make your lights brighter with the black out kit or tinting spray....
Please pass on the brand of bulb or store you bought them at..I wasted money on ebay for a cheap brand and they were actually dimmer than my stock 3057 bulbs...
I want to get brighter bulbs so I dont have that stubborn old lady or stupid *** high schooler use the excuse I couldnt see his tails when I was slammin into the back of my vette

We tested just about every bulb over the past year Doug. The only successful solution we've found for bright blackouts, is using the Halo LED sealed units. You won't find an LED replacement bulb that will be brighter than the standard bulbs. And if you find a significantly brighter incandescent bulb, you'll distort and warp your lenses. We've burned up MANY of C5 light housing in our tests.
Best wishes,
Richard

It really doesn't matter. If someone rearends you & you have tinted brake lights you are out of compliance. ANY alteration of brake/tail lights is against the law. Most if not all manufacturers state "for display only". I don't know if the black cherry LED's are legal or not.
