I took the vette on a trip for work this morning, and fouled a few plugs. I have a lose wire to one of my computers, and will be fixing that this weekend. Anyways, the company i was auditing, had a GOODYEAR tire shop in the same parking lot. I figured I'd stop in and ask, what they'd charge me to throw in 8 new plugs. <which i carry spares in my car>. I explained my situation, and that i can do the swap in under an hour. The guy starts tapping away at his computer and then on to a calculator. He looks at me with a straight face and quotes me 307.38 for labor
I laughed all the way out the door. I could have towed my car home for less than that. Long story short, i drove the car enough to clean out the plugs and drove safely home.
Well every dog has it's day they say.. You should send a letter to the Goodyear folks and ask if this is the kind of service they offer everyone. These guys should get their licence taken away.
I'm sorry a plug change is not a couple hour job, and even still at 90 bucks an hour it's not a 3.4 hour job. If they think they can honestly charge that, they need to get a grip on reality. Honestly, that's borderline criminal if you ask me.

respect...
thanks for the help on the radio, turns out i didn't need to remove it anyways. Hows the weather down there? cause its -3 here.
That sucks, what dicks. Reminds me of the time I had to get my 75 towed. The driver gets all the way out to my car(10 miles from Tallahassee on I-10EB) and tells me that since my car is a Corvette it will be an extra $50. He didn't take anymore care with it than a regular car. The bad thing is I had to use him b/c he was going to charge for coming out there. Bastards.
Took the wife's Durango into the dealer to have a couple things checked and they told me that it needed plugs changed and it was over $300.00 also and the service writer said that they could have it done in about 24hrs, I told him that I needed the wheels and put it on the ground and that I would be over to get it, I laughed at them too!!
