Gitty Up indeed! Thanks for the high quality video. This is the closest one I've seen to the way it actually feels inside the car. Noooo RX7... you cannot escape.

It was a little nerve wracking at first but when I realized he wasn't slowing any I got closer to him. When I talked to him afterwards I found out who he was and why he was tapping the brakes. His article on the StopTech web page explains why.
As for the driving I was surprised by some of the lines he took also. This was his first time as an instructor with the group and it was his first time at the Glen and in a Vette. He usually runs at tracks in the Mid West. He has a fair amount of track experience and as a brake engineer gets to test brakes in different ways. He had a student riding with him and was probably demonstrating where not to run etc. In 2005 he showed up with a complete set of StopTech brakes on the car.

When in shape, passed by . . . Let me see . . . . . . ( whistleing and thinking....)
Not much. Other race prepped vettes, a few race preped Mustangs, on occation a Porshe Cup car, but not often, a Ruff twinn turbo Porsche on occation, but normally get this guy back 1/2 lap latter as he gets tired when pushing hard, a tubro LS6 Mazda RX7, Twin turbo Celica that hangs around Road Atlanta, Ferrari Challange cars, race prpeped Vipers, and oh yah
A DP Prototype

Driving skill and seat time is more important then mods or the car.
I know one guy with 30 some years or race experience. He drives and Audi station wagon. He can out run most anyone on any track.

Each run group is set up by approximite experince. and the jump between groups is exponetial, not linerar.
If you think your top dog in one run group, then when you get promoted you will be low man on the track and just about eveyone will pass you. Even the little miata will eat you alive in corners.
Speed is not everthing. Learning to be safe and good driving skills are. SPeed will come with smoothness and time.
When you stop TRYING to go fast and relax, you might be supprised how fast you really do run.
