With 1000mi I would have it checked out. A lot can happen to a car that does not get driven. Just moved a friend last weekend and he had a car that has been sitting in his garage for about 2 years (an older car 83 BMW), and when we moved it in everything was fine but not has a rotted fuel line. Just check it out closely.
And as mentioned again, all MY03 were the 50th anniversary cars, but just the 1 color combo Anniversary Edition.
Yup... very good deal, especially for that mileage. I paid $32,000 out the door from a dealership for my 50th anniversary with 11800 miles 2 months ago.
I think he's talking coupe, not vert., when he says both tops. There is a big price difference between the two models. Usually a few thousand $. If it is a base model coupe I wouldn't think the price is so great! Almost three years ago when they were closing out the C-5's you could get a base model coupe '04 for mid thirties. You could get a loaded '04 vert 6 speed for $46-47K during the summer of 2004. I know, as I came close to buying a new '04 vert 6 speed from Kerbeck in July of '04.
You apparently noticed the 2 tops mentioned in the post, but maybe missed the Fully Loaded part.
I think the price is very fair if the condition of the car looks new. Many Vette owners own multiple cars and if you look around you can find them. I certainly would pay a little more for a extra low mile Vette.
My 2 cents.
