Ok this sucks.... My 00 coupe's key fobs arent working... If you manually reprogram them then they will work for like 10 seconds then will lose the memory... Is this the receiver for the key fob?? any ideas....??
It could be the receiver. But it also can be the car's battery. Have you had that checked. If the voltage drops below a certain point then the fobs get screwed up also.
I had the same problem with my 2000 fob's. I opened them up and cleaned the batterys and contacts with a cotton cloth. Then I slightly bent the battery contacts to make better contact.
I put them back together and they've been working great ever since.
I do watch and jewelry repair. Often I get a quartz watch that is not working. I test the battery and it shows good. I clean the contacts and the battery and it works again. Corrosion builds up between the contacts and the battery and interferes with normal impulse transmission. Very gently scrape the contact points and rub the battery terminals on a clean cloth. sometimes this helps, although it is also a sign that the battery has been in there for a while and is aging. Personally, I would change the battery at that point so that it doesn't leave you stranded in a rainstorm, 'cause you know thats when its going to RIP.
Well Ive replaced the battery with a new one from my job (dealership). The fob works... We have fob testers.. and it shows to be working properly.. Im thinking its either the receiver or the fob, BUTTT If it were the fob.. it wouldnt work for the like 30 seconds.. so I dunno... But thanks yall..

If your tire pressure monitors are working, then it's unlikely a receiver problem

Hope this helps.
I also have a 2000 Vert. Did the same as aboe, but also put new batteries in. Problem solved. Mark
my 2000 has the same problem...it is actually bad soldering...the moment i opened mine up, a relay fell out...it is a rectangular one on the top right corner....check that...good luck....cuz 2000 fobs are more expensive!!!
MY service tire monitor light is on also though.... so that doesnt help any... and the new batteries didnt do anything... a new battery for the car though....? Its almost brand new... so I dunno... this key fob issue is a pain in the butt though!!

I would find someone or friend with a same year vette and try teaching their fob to your car. Or buy a new one.
You might note that the receiver is used by both the tire sensors & keyless entry remote so problems with BOTH might indicate a receiver issue

My 99 FOB did the same thing, would train but then 30 seconds later woundn't work. Bad solder, but it was a capacitor that was loose. I tried to resolder, but to no avail, buy a NEW fob, don't mess with a used one. Fred Bean's or Gene used to have the cheapest, probably the same still.
