The wife is looking online @ a Vette from Corvette Palace in Dallas. Any feedback on these folk's?
I bought my '02 coupe from them about two years ago. I had an excellent buying experience - my first and only (so far) online car purchase. I was concerned with buying a car sight unseen, but Shannon eased my mind and the result was perfect. Their prices are higher than what you might see other places, but they specialize in low mileage cars in excellent condition. I was not disappointed.
You will pay a marked up price over what you may find from an individual, but they do go through their cars pretty good and clean them up nicely. They dont want a bad reputation from selling crap. If they get one that doesn't move or one that may be below standard, they blow it out at the auctions. (not the online one)
When I went to get my C5, I had two I was looking at in Austin. It was between them and Corvette Country. When I called them on the phone they dropped their price $2000 right off the bat, so they do deal a bit, but when I flew out to look they wouldn't even let me sit in it, let alone take it for a test drive. They also had to jump-start it to get it running too and then only let it idle for about 30 seconds. Went over to Corvette Country to look at the other one I was thinking about and the first thing he did was go get the keys and let me take it for a drive. So ended up getting the one from Corvette Country. I can understand being picky about selling cars but to not even let me sit in it or take it for a test drive after flying out there? Set off a few warning flags to me.
Not only have "heard", but have personal experience
I bougt mine from Corvettes of Dallas. I think I know what you mean but mine wasnt all that bad. They do try to cover up a few things but it wasnt anything I couldnt fix.
Thank you all, for your comments. Terri signed the papers this afternoon. She has waited 30 yrs for a Corvette. They are going to put it on a truck Monday, headed for Kaliforny.
I frequent the firearmsforum.com dailly. I'm blown away by the traffic on this website, compared to TFF. You are quite an active group & I'm impressed. I've met lots of nice people on the web, & I think this collection of people is a good one. Good thing you all don't have as many Corvettes, as I have guns. We'd have to quit our jobs to keep up w/ the website activity. And you have better icons!
The guy I bought my '01 Coupe from bought TWO vettes from them. He highly recommends them. He bought a 02 that was in perfect condition after I got his '01 but really wanted a convertible and when they got one in 6 months later he bought that one too. Then, another friend at work just got a 50th Convertible from them last fall, he recommends them too.
