Default Houston Corvette Expo Experience

This was my first Corvette show to attend, period. I was very happy to meet up with some of the guys that I speak to or PM from time to time. I am sure there were also many more Corvette Forum Members that I just walked by without noticing. IMO, if the CF could have a booth or be part of the organizing committee of these type of events to provide attending CF members a name badge with His/Her CF Name, it would help people to meet and enjoy their time at these events much much more. IMO, this help would draw more CF members to the show just knowing that this would be a gathering place for CF members. The organizer for the event could donate the booth space to the CF which would MORE than pay for itself by increasing attendance which I feel the Houston show needs to increase. A situation like this could be a Win-Win-Win for the: event organzier, by increasing attendance: for the Corvette Forum, by growing it's membeship from it's mere prescense at the event: for the Corvette Enthusiast, by bringing together a show of force of more attendees with CF name badges, more Vendors displays that will come with the higher attendance, and the list can go on and on. There was an obvious abscense of "Industry Icons" in the performance market as well. I feel that both of these shortcommings for the Houston Show and other "Big City Shows" could be improved with the expected prescense of Corvette Forum members, Digital Corvette Members, ZO6 Vette members, LS1 Tech, etc..As a matter of fact, I don't know how an event promoter could not want the presense of the Corvette Forum at any large Corvette Event. An invitation to the CF to participate and to invite it's members to come an enjoy meeting would mean more attendance and more fun for the attendees I know that most of the really big events like Carlilse, Bowling Green, etc. are the place to go to see all the "Industry Icons", but I do believe the other Corvette Shows around the country could greatly benefit by havinig the involvement of the Corvette Forum with it's many, many, members all looking to meet in person and enjoy the "Fellowship of the Corvette Brotherhood" with the many people they have met here on our wonderful forum

don't look now...but things are in the changing process for next year. if you had noticed, just about every car there was in a car club, and everyone got dumped on this year, and in the past. the corvette clubs from around the houston area are sending representatives to a central meeting place to hopefully work with each other and hopefully to put on their own expo next year and keep the money here in houston instead of down the road. they are also wanting to co-ordinate activities so that all the clubs know what the other is doing during the year.

Things need to change for the better I am sure that Houston has one of the largest populations of Corvettes in the USA. We should have a "Corvette Gathering" here that will attract the "masses" with many big name manufactures & tuners and specialty part manufactures. Make it easy for the smaller manufacturers also to have a space. Like I said in my thread starter, I wish the Corvette Forum and other Vette related forums would help in bringing the "Corvette Community" together at these types of events. I feel that would also help the Corvette Forum grow with supporting members and supporting vendors. Thanks to all
