There is a connection in the back of the unit for the CD changer. This a proprietary cable harness, not a common jack type input (RCA, or whatever). This allows you to control the changer from the head unit. The harness runs from the head unit to the passenger side floorboard. There are connectors there for the 12 disk player cable, or in this case, the COR-HAR. If you car did not come with a 12 disk, they did not include the cable to plugs into these connectors. Therefore you need the COR-HAR.
The GMAUX plugs into the COR-HAR, and accepts a stereo jack to RCA connection to recieve the iPod audio signal. The HK plugs into the iPod comm port (bottom of the iPod) to control the iPod, as well as recieve track and other information.

And just to clarify, you have three options to get the HK signal into the head unit:
1. FM transmission. Nothing additional needed.
2. Wired FM transmission. Needs the $29 adapter ruf455 was referring to. Works the same as above, but with less interferrence (I assume).
3. Hardwire it using the approach I described above. Little more expensive, but zero interferrence. Works like an integrated component, not a hack approach. (Not trying to knock the FM approach really, much less effort required... Just not as elegant a solution).

I used the iPod2Car adapter - go here for the writeup & pictures of the cables used. Direct connection, no FM modulators, automatic power-on/power-off with the factory radio, ipod remains hidden, and on a good day, the factory bose will control the iPod. I usually just use a Griffin Airclick remote, about the size of your thumb.
The additional piece for the HK Driveplay is to hardwire it throught the antenna instead of like sending it wirelessly. This is the piece you want along with 2 gm antenna adapters, it will sound crystal clear, I installed for 2 years and did a number of these. A cheaper solution especially if you want to retain control on your ipod like some do, this is the way to go get the audiovox rf modulator (idk about the quality of others but I have used this one atleast 20 times and always works great) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Audio...oductDetail.do it can be found for less. Then grab this http://sonicelectronix.com/item_6794.html which will give you lineout from the ipod and charge it for you at the same time. Get the 2 gm antenna adapters and put all this in and you will have great sound quality. For those with a cd changer there is a way to splice into the line running from the cdchanger to the radio and connect a set of rca wires and input your signal there. Check the C5 FAQ for the wiring diagram its very inexpensive.
I just did the audivox rf modulator and nucleus cable in my dads vette and he has been very happy with it, my girl also has the same thing in her saturn
and pulled apart the dash and realized I need the adapters....can you now PLEASE help me out with where to find those adapters and what they are called???
Right. The HK has a preset channel and you just need to scan and find it...will always be the same. (this info is also coming from a friend who works for Apple and has had a bunch of experience with just using this single piece)
SOO..theoretically, the HK Wired transmitter and these adapters alone should do the trick...you will still have to control the ipod through the ipod itself, but that's fine with me. It can easily be wired and tucked away into the center console.
Well, I'm going to pick up the adapters tomorrow from Fry's and I'll let you guys know if it works. It would be a nice inexpensive way to do this...a grand total of $50.
it tunes to 88.9 or something like that, theres 2 stations you can select from, the way it works is when u turn the HK or rf modulator on it cuts out the signal from all incoming fm stations so no interference, tahts why it runs inline with the antenna
Well, the adapters seem to fit correctly..but i guess I was wrong. This doesn't work. Argh..I'm just urked to have to pay $150 to have my damn ipod work in the friggin' car.
I have an iPod and am curious about this setup using iPod2car. According to Crutchfield, all I need is the iPod2car and one cable they supply for $19.99. My car does not have a CD Changer or the corresponding cable.
What am I missing? The iPod2car they are offering sells for $149.00. Does that price include one of the two required cables?
I want to buy this but would like to get everything I need on the first go around!
The iPod has been wire to my radio through Aux jack and has a toggle switch that I think turns the ipod jack on instead of playing the cd. Neither the cd or aux work in my car when i bought it. Any ideas of the problem..loose cable maybe?

I installed this last August. You'll need an IPOD2CAR (GM unit) and a GMH20T adapter (if you don't have a changer). I bought it from Crutchfield for $26 (Item #541GMH20T). I've been quite impressed w/ its performance so far.
Been following this thread...and I think I have a clear understanding of what cable I need to hook up the HK Drive & Play....
In my situation, I have an 03 with the remote 12 Disc CD player mounted in the rear. The only cable I'll need to buy to "hard wire" the HK Drive & Play thing up ...is the GMAUX-10 cable ...and nothing else, correct???
I posted this once in another thread but here it goes.
I got the IPOD2CAR for my 01 without changer. I couldnt get it to work....turns out they dont supply that one cable needed for vettes. I called them and nicely asked why it didnt say so on the package. They sent me the correct harness for free 2 days later priority mail.
Give it a try. Peripherial is who you have to call.

Interesting. Crutchfield is suggesting a different cable parts # for my install. It is also out of stock. When I plug in and search for #541GM20T, it says it is not a recommended cable for my setup. If I look @ the pics of the two cables, they look identical.

Just curious but what did they originally send you and what cable did they provide later for free?
