Default cut outs installed

i bought a set of exhaust from a forum members 04 and was just going to swap em out but i then realized that the new set wouldnt fit because my 97 has the abs behind the diff. and the location of the cut outs was wrong. i couldnt find anywhere to fit them, and finally after several attempts i found only this area to cramm them in. cut them off the 04 set and welded them on my orig. set. they work really well http://cfupload.stevesdomain.net/images/abcabc0325.jpg

Looks great man! That sucks that the exhaust we traded didn't fit, I had no idea there was any difference between our cars that wouldn't allow the cut outs to work on your car (well I guess neither of us did). Good to see you got them hooked up now though.

Where did you end up locating the switch? Need some more pics and a video man

Damn I miss my vette!!!!

thanks colby, i put the switch inside the center console in the acc. hole. after i got the units installed the wiring was a breeze. i bought the car lift that we borrowed and put it in my shop, and man does it make things easier than laying on the ground. i lifted the car up and sat in a comfy chair and rolled around in comfort looking untill i found the only spot to put them. if you ever need the lift, just shout

I am looking into this mod. What is the cost of installation on this? I figure $200 - $300 range add the cost of cut outs and we are talking the $650 area. I can't decide if it's worth it. They look great and I am sure sound even better though.

i bought mine used, but i think you can get them for around 325. and they are simple to install. if you find your location they will fit on your car, i would think that a muffler shop would weld the bungs (? pipes w/ a flange) on for around 50 clams, and you can wire it yourself. if you were closer i would help you put em on for nothing. having your own lift and welding mach. is helpfull. as far as worth it- man i like the quiet road trip, but sometimes want to rip around a little too and its nice to have two completely different sounds from one car. especially when you have that butt thats thinks its ok to run 50 in a 70, just slip up on them and flip the switch and wot around, will definetally let them know they were passed. im pretty country dumb to this fancy machine, and i just figured out how to post pics. im sure posting video is down the road of my ability.

I have the lift I just need to find someone to do the welding. We have several inches of snow and this would be a good time to get it done since I can't go anywhere. I went ahead and ordered a set from QTP.

So it looks something like this. . .

That's where I initially put it too, but had so much fun using it I relocated it to the ashtray later (but I know you have other mods there already).

People are reqesting vids, I took a few and they never did a very good job of reflecting the difference or actual sound of the car. But of course, all my video was taken with a digital camera so my quality is pretty crappy anyway.

Congrats again Fry and thanks for the offer on using your lift, who knows what you'll be working on/creating now since you've got permanent access to it
