Mine did the EXACT same thing. You might also look at your DIC as well. Mine would change back to the odometer reading everrytime I would start the car and pretty much every thing else would Zero" out. Once I changed out the battery, problem is gone.

w/ all of the above. Same thing happened to me b/4 my 3rd (and last) Optima Red Top died out on me. Installed a new battery (Sears DieHard) and problem was gone. Good luck...

If you disconnect the battery, it will go to oil, not temperature. I quess that is the default setting for the HUD. If yours goes to something other than oil, it might not be the battery...
