I guess theres a first time for everything.Had just left a dealer checking out the new body style silverado. It was the first time i had the vette out in awhile, with the crap on the roads. She was feeling REALLY peppy.I didnt have my pasport 8500 with me as its in my daily driver so what happend next is something that i told myself would never happen. As i was getting into it a little going around a curve, all of a sudden a state trooper is going by me as im doing 74 in a 50 Let me tell you my vette brothers and sisters, theres not a worse feeling in the world. As he comes up to the window i see he is a younger officer.I told him ive not had the car out because of the snow and didnt relize my speed, and that i new thats why he pulled me over.He was very cool and calm.as he writing me up im thinking about my insurance, surcharges and all that fun stuff. My daughter has her permit and that added driver pluss this is going to be a big shot in the wallet. My long time girlfreind was with me trying to keep me from crying...............Well he comes back to the car and gives me just a warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! iTHANKED HIM TO THE POINT OF BEING A HORSES ***!!!!!!!!!Thank you i didnt get his name but on the warning its badge #9809 a fine young nj state policeman. Yes it was the first time ive ever been pulled over and he had me dead.I always pick my spots to enjoy my car,but today i let my guard down for a second and it almost cost me BIG TIME.Watch out out there ALWAYS have your radar with you and dont hit it if theres any blind spots. AND IF YOU NOT SMART ENOUGH HOPE YOU GET THE SAME officer as me
Oh man, you are ONE LUCKY DUDE!! That was not only a nice cop, but a really nice cop. 74 in a 50, and you walked with a warning? Today was your day. Should have played the lottery.

Proof positive that not opening a big mouth to the LEO can reap rewards...not always, but good for you.
Several LEO friends have told me many times that if you're polite and contrite, you have a much better chance of a warning or a pass than if you give them lip and attitude.

I'm just glad you didn't lose it in the curve if the roads were still cold enough to decrease your traction. The ticket would have been of secondary concern. Congrats on getting the warning after coming clean with the cop, though. Great outcome.
