Default LS-1 Emblems

I want to get a set of LS-1 Emblems to go on my vette in the same place where the Z06 emblems are put on the Z06's I have found them for $99 on e-bay, machined stainless steel, but that still seems to high. You can buy Z06 emblems all day long for under $50 but not the LS-1 emblems. Why is this? Is the vette tax that bad. They are just 2 4" emblems for gods sake! Any input, has anyone else noticed this. I have also seen the LS-1 emblems for $99 each, damn...

I used this from another forum member to install mine.

Z06 Fender Emblem Placement;
1. Front of Emblem 8.5" from top of fender to bottom of emblem.

2. 8.4" from top of fender to bottom of the rear of the emblem.

3. Rear edge 6.24" from rear of fender to the back of emblem.

mmm, i think bcseitz misunderstood your question...

they're expensive because they're custom made and not mass produced like GM's Z06 emblems.

i agree with you though; NO emblems are worth that kind of money.

I agree, but there are a bunch of after market z06 ones out there that were not produced by GM, so why can't or don't these companies make the LS-1 emblems at a market/fair price? I don't care if it is factory made, hell, GM didn't make the LS-1 emblems from the factory, so they have to be after market emblems to start with, besides, there can't be any trade marks involved because of this, so you would think they would be cheap to produce.

Whats the point of the emblem? What other engine would your coupe have?

What's the point of any mod?? To make it yours, a little different. I don't like mods that make your vehicle look "cheap", not a spoiler type person, but small, classy mods kind of bring the car out. i would never put Z06 emblems or anything that trys to advertise what the is not. But yes it does have an LS-1 and i just like a little touch of class the emblem adds. But not for the money they cost...

I think I've seen some on ebay that were vinyl for a few dollars. Just keep watching or do a search there. One other thought. You could easily make your own out of thin aluminum sheet stock. Buy a letter style book at an art store and choose a nice font. trace onto the sheet and cutout with a jeweler's saw, file the edges, polish, then glue to a metal rectangle. this will be truly unique, like you wanted in the first place!

These are custom made to any design you would like. CNC machined out of billet aluminum then hand sanded and polished. If you want nice ones, these are the way to go. If you want cheep ones, well...I think you found them already.

I put this LS-1 in the engine instead of on the outside of the car

For $200 I'm sure he can!!! They are very nice, but I personally don't need a fancy box that will be stuck in a closet (after the emblems are put on) and don't care about the custom HP ect. Just want plain LS-1 badges for both sides. I was just thinking that by now, someone would mass produce these and make a little money (wal-mart style).
