I bought mine a few months ago at 125K miles to use as a DD. It gets better mileage than my other cars, is more fun, and runs just great. I'll stop driving it when the wheels fall off. Actually, I'll put on new wheels and keep going.

Mines a DD. Love it!! I am going to get mine out tomorrow for the first time in over a month. Streets are clear here now and a little salt will rinse right off. Drive it all you can. Got mine over two years ago with 56K on the clock. Now 84k on the clock. Only thing I've had to replace is the oil pressure sensor (december) and the tires (last month). Winter car is a 95 buick rivi and I have had to spend much more on it since I bought it new then I have on the 99' Vette.

Daily driver. I live in SoCal, bought a vert and didn't wait 46 years to buy a Corvette to park it in the garage. I drive it as often as I can on a daily basis. I work out of the house, so no worries about excess miles from a long commute. I think I'm putting about 7k a year on it, and look forward to doing more of the same for a long time to come.
Hey guys I am a new vette owner. I bought a 97 coupe with 65K miles. The car seems in pretty good shape all it has is a few scratches. I was wondering how many of you actually use your cars as daily drivers and at what mileage should I stop driving the car on a daily basis. Sorry for the dumb question
Mine's a DD. I have 87,000 +/- miles on it and it still runs great. (Of course, when I say that, that is when my wife says "Then why are you replacing heads/cam/intake/etc/etc???")
Mine is a WD...weekly driver.
It is a solid car like any other...drive it, maintain it, and don't worry about miles. Sorry gents, but C5's are a long way from being an appreciating asset...they are depreciating assets, not invesments.
Congrats on your new purchase. Soon you will laugh that you questioned using your vette as a daily driver. Your other car will begin gathering dust from non-use. I just sold my first vette with 110K on the odometer, and replaced it with a C5, now my daily driver. By the way, be forewarned that this site will most likely become a daily visiting place for you too. The people here are great and you will learn much about your car.
Daily driver 2000 bought 1 year ago with 42k took a trip to Il. 30 miles one way to work only time it stays in the garage is when its wet outside, people in Texas do not know how to drive in the rain dont even think about snow and ice! So far oil gas and one fog light bulb. 67k now. have fun!
I use to average about 5-7k miles a year total on my cars. Until I bought my C5. Got it March of last year with 21,972 miles on the odometer, and by the first week of November, It had 28,858 before finding a guard rail.
So my average of 400-600 miles a month, JUMPED to about 1,000 miles a month as I took every excuse I could, to drive my car somewhere, anywhere! I love these C5's, and wouldn't go without one ever again.
Hell my buddy just threw a Supercharger on his daily driver, 00' and it has 104k miles on the clock. Put down 463rwhp.
These cars are made to be driven, not just looked at.
My D/D is a 94 Mazda Truck from NOVEMBER to MARCH. Then I break out the VETTE. People around here don't DRIVE very well in the WINTER,and I don't like the idea of someone sliding to my BABY!
Daily driver here. Im only 20 and traded in my Camaro SS and MY GOD... the difference is crazy!! I love it!! I worked at a stealership so I dont care about anything messing up... I got a STEALLL on mine though... well at least I think so. 2000 Coupe, 32k miles, $15.5. Old man is the manager.. haha
99 Coupe w/65K miles. Used by the original owner as a DD. I told the Insurance company that it would be used for pleasure only. Since I'm retired, I am pleased every day. Gues that makes it a DD!

I'll have to use that excuse someday when I retire.
