So, I bought a nice set of Chrome Wheels from a forum member. Yesterday, I made arrangements at the local Chevy Dealer to have the new wheels put on the Vette today. When I arrived at the dealership at the 10:00 am appointment, the shop manager said "you are not in the computer; we will just have to work you in". OK, now I am pissed but deal with it. I run some errands with a friend of mine, have lunch and check back at 1:00 pm. They have not even started. Now, I go to the local historical museum and burn the afternoon. I left my cell phone # so they could call me when they were finished. No call all afternoon. We go back to the dealer and the shop manager informs me that the back two are done but there is a problem with the front wheels. Apparently, who ever installed the Tire Pressure Sensors, broke valve stems and re-affixed the sensors by mounting them with some screws and a piece of strap metal inside the CCW Street classics I was having them remove. Then they tell me I have to replace the two front sensors, about $150 @, but they only have one in stock. They can get another one tomorrow from another dealer. It is now 5:30 pm and they are shutting down for the day. I have no ride home (I live 30 miles from the dealer). Fortunately, a friend of mine works in the body shop and gives me a lift. I am now very grouchy and mad. What pissed me off was they did not call me earlier in the afternoon so I could go pick up the additional sensor and bring it to their shop. Thanks for listening! BTW I am selling the CCW Street Classics. If you are interested, PM me.

Oh, I've been near that situation. Luckily Bubba got flustered before he wrecked things and I hauled everything to a qualified shop. Too many damn idiots in this world. (Good thing I'm not one of them. )
Sorry about your ****ty experience.
This is another reason to be very careful when selecting a dealership to do work. Sorry to hear you got the run around. I think I would give the Cheverolet Customer Service a call or email to complain about that dealer. Good luck.
What is with the service coming out of dealerships. This is the second thread today about lousy service. It almost seems like they don't want the after sale repairs.

Notice the key words above just because it's a dealer doesn't mean they are "qualified" to work on your Vette. Good help is hard to find.
I never understood people and their careers. They went to school to become an auto technician because I thought they wanted too and they like cars. Guess not. Why go into an industry if you don't care about what you're doing? I don't get it. I do all the work myself whenever I can. I trust no one!
I used to take my Vette to dealership. When it was free.
I actually like the Vette tech at my local dealership. He works on Vettes more than any other car. He has owned a couple. I know of two guys that bring their car in from out of state for him to work on their cars.
I guess I have a good dealership because they would never leave me hanging like that. They have loaned me a car and given me a ride home.
The dealership that I use has a very good Corvette technician. Also, if put in the situation that you were, they would have given me a loaner car to use. Hell, they give me a loaner car to use "while" they're working on any of my vehicles so I can go to the store or restaurant. Guess I found a GOOD one.

Sorry you had such a bad experience at the dealership. You're right in that they should have kept you informed once they ran into problems. Plus the fact that they didn't have you set up for an appointment like they said they would is bad business.
That would probably be the last time I went there unless you absolutely had to.
Up date! I got the wheels put on and the new sensors installed. After some discussion with the management, we cut a deal. I have calmed down and the wheels look good. So, other than the money part, I guess I'll heal up. Thanks for all of your support.

Maybe it would be a good idea to share the name of these meatheads so anyone in your area can stay clear.
I'm very fortunate, I just had my Mustang's 5 speed rebuilt under warranty. ARRRGH, TREMEC uses F^&%ING Japanese bearings!!! Any rate, the Master tech did the job, the car shifts mint and is PERFECT, he showed me a huge box of parts, anything questionable was tossed.
Next door is the Chevy dealer, service writer, Paula, is awesome! She loves C-5's, even the dealer-owner (he's an older gent in his '70's) came out and complimented my car. As for a mechanic, Jim is in his 30's and works on my car each time it comes in, I bring him a coffee, and my car comes back mint, and fixed right the first time. Either I have good luck with dealers, or the sevice people appreciate I worked as a line mechanic for Buick/Ford in the '70's as I worked my way through College. I've only been in the area for a year, and these dealers are new aquaintenances. But I tell you so far, Southern folks are awesome! I lived prior in CT, and I wasn't treated with as much customer focus as they do down here! No complaints, I guess I'm lucky!
