looking for some advice. i've searched the forum for z06 fog light screen install instructions and only found the velcro method. i was hoping to install them like the factory does. i have the closed shrouds that i need to take off and open up as well. how can this be done? do i need to take the bumper off? any help would be appreciated.
The Z06 style screens come with dbl-sided tape. Works just fine. Removing the shrouds is NOT worth the PITA doing it. I took a half-inch drill bit and drilled three rows of holes. That allows plenty of cold air in and only took me 10 mins.
thanks for the links and the advice. i'll try the install next weekend.
Drill 5...1-5/8" holes with a paddle drill and don't push hard while drilling. Then slowly and carefully cut along the tops and bottoms of the holes to connect the holes(you can also square the corners) and form a rectangular shape.(rectangular cutout not pictured)or you could just leave the holes and not do the rectangular shape thingy, but you get more air in by cutting out the rectangle.
Put velcro on the top and bottom of the screens and a strip of velcro on the top and bottom of the opening where the screens will go. Use a thin piece of cardboard inbetween the pieces of velcro on the screens and the velcro around the matching velcro on the bumper and slide the screen in...then get your final position.Hold the screens in place firmly and remove the cardboard and ..bingo. To get the screens out, push the thin piece of cardboard or (plastic from a folder) between the velcro pieces and pull the screens out.
Take your time...its pretty easy to do even for a person who is not mechanically inclined..
thanks! i think that's what i'll try. was there enough clearance for the drill chuck? i was worried that it would chip the paint. to cut the holes in a rectangle, would i just have to use a small saw or a utility knife after the holes are drilled. thanks again for your reply.

The paddle drill bit I used had about a 7-8 inch shaft on it so it would reach without the drill chuck touching anything.(you can buy a paddle drill bit with a long enough shaft for a few bucks). After you drill one hole you will see that you don't need much pressure while drilling so you can keep the bit from going in too far after the hole is drilled. I used a utility knife going slowly and making a few passes with the tip of the blade doing the actual cutting instead of pressing hard and cutting through the plastic all at once. You have to hold the knife firmly and just cut slowly. I also used lots of wide, blue painters/masking tape on everything around the area incase I slipped
