Default Frame Savers

There was a product I believe it was called a frame saver. It was a pair of wheels that were welded beside the frame horns and stuck down like a 1/2 past the frame so if you were going to touch down these would stop the frame from hitting. On lowered cars this is a great risk. Anyone have any info on these? i did a search and did not come up with much.
Thanks,
Jeffy'

There are a few on the market. I got mine from A&A Corvette another Forum vendor.

The ones Chip sells which he's linked above look like a good product

You might want to consider rocker rails at the same time. These are reinforcement bars that run the length of the car and protect against grounding. Again a few of the Forum vendors including Elite Engineering sell them. these two mods are worth every penny in my view.

I'm curious how these differ from the $5.99 Casters found at hardware stores, that look identical to what vendors are selling.

It's all about side load capacity, and static weight bearing capasity...

Researched it for 2 months with our engineers before we committed to a design...

I thought aout doing the same thing...you cant find a wheel that will carry the load ( most of teh ones found in the HomeDepots etcc are only 75 lbs and pressed plastic...not gonna cut it for long) required for under 10 - 15 bucks a wheel...so buying from which ever sponsor is a steal.....

Im buying some today...

I put frame guards on. Installed them right at the bend in the frame horn.

Do they work? Yes and no.

Yes, if you are hitting a surface that isn't higher than the axle of small wheels.

No, if the surface/tire block/curb is a little higher than the wheels. In this case you still bang up against the object.

I'm not convinced they are completely worth the time, cost, and trouble to install 'em.

If I didn't already have them I'd certainly move them down to the bottom of my list of to-do-mods.

Thanks!

Didn't know of them. I think I'd rather have them than the wheels.

Thanks for the link too.
