JMO, but the rage and ire didn't come in the post to which your referring until the original poster started acting like a jerk. I didn't post at all in that thread, so this is just me reading and reacting to it. His suggestion was met with lots of 
icons and the like, which is perfectly legitimate and could apply to lots of mods, including wheels, exhaust, etc. Obviously, it's in the perception of the individual what looks good. Frankly, I think people here get a little too sensitive when it comes to criticism. If you post a picture of it, asking for opinions, then be prepared to get negative opinions.
Another case in point would be those glass-blown shift *****... Obviously, they require a lot of talent and patience to craft, but if you paid me a million dollars to put one in my car, I'd put one in my car, pocket the money, and then SELL the damn car because I think they're hideous! That poster got all offended and started making inappropriate personal attacks in response to people not liking her "art."
Bottom line, if you don't want people's opinions, don't ask for them. If you want sycophantic responses, you're not going to get them from me or most people on this forum. I'll give my honest opinion, SINCE YOU ASKED, and if you don't like it, you can disregard it. But I don't expect to personally attacked because I happen to have different (and better
) taste than you.

EXACTLY!! It's kinda like one of my favorite quotes: There are no stupid questions, only stupid people! Or not...
