Does roll back happen?
Or is it just for other not so desirable cars?
has any one bought a 'vette, then found it had the miles tampered with

I wouldn't say it never happens, but with a car like the C5 I'm thinking you have to have the proper equipment to reset the mileage.

Being that my car had a 3-4 owners and 44k miles and looked good
id say its real. Carfaxed to.
But if it was one owner that put in a new speedo how would you know?
A dealer/or... can flash in any miles iv heard.

You are right, you can reset the current odometer by using certain software. I am going to do this on my Camaro after I get the motor built. The only thing is I will have a plate put on the inner door jamb stating the mileage of the car before they clear it to 0.
You can also buy a differnt gauge cluster with less miles. But the cluster bar code wont match the vin of the car its in.
