Question, what's the objective here? A FRC with automatic that will haul butt? A killer automatic?

In other words, do you want a Z06 because of the body style or because it kicks butt...or both?

More than anything else I like the body style.
I want an automatic for a couple of reasons:
Long commute with heavy traffic
Eventual plans to do a twin turbo of some type and has been my
experience over the years having driven numerous supercharged
street vehicles that it is easier to get power to the pavement with
an automatic.

Okay. Just wondered if it might be the other way around, wanted an automatic behind the LS6. Then we get into what can be done to an LS1 to make it the equal of an LS6. But if you have your heart set on a FRC, then I think I'd be looking for an old, worn out one that you could buy for a song and spend the money rebuilding. Sounds like you're going to do that anyway. Why spend the money on a pristene Vette if you're going to rip out the transmission and the motor?
