Yes, sometimes, and I also get a cramp in my right hand from the shifter. But the biggest problem I have is the cramps from the pain I get in my face from smiling while I am doing it! All kidding aside my car is the most comfortable standard I have ever driven. My wife used to have a car that took major pressure on the clutch and it was a pain to drive. The only thing I have noticed on my car is the type of shoes I am wearing make it easier to shift. The other day I drove my wearing a pair of leather-soled loafers. I prefer something with a non-slip sole that makes it easier to feel the clutch, like tennis shoes. I also had to move up the seat some and move the steering wheel back some to get a better fit so I didn't need to stretch the legs so much when pressing the clutch. When I bought my car I had not driven a standard for over 10 years and I was worried about making a fool out of myself. One of lifes best pleasures - running the gears on a saturday afternoon in spring with the top down and stereo cranked up!
When i wear like a running shoe it just kills my foot but a regular tennis shoe it's not as bad kinda wierd I've been driving sticks my whole life never had this issue before I WILL DRIVE IN PAIN IF I HAVE TO YOUR NOT GOING TO PRY THIS BABY AWAY FROM ME
Sore?? Heck, I broke my foot a couple of months ago due to the stiffness of the clutch!
Had the clutch checked out, it's fine.
On a recommendation from a forum member,(thanks TripleBlackx2!!) I found that mountain biking shoes work GREAT! It has a stiff sole and I had rubber piece placed on the bottom of the shoe to keep it from slipping off the pedal. I keep the left shoe in the car and change my shoe whenever I drive.
It makes a significant difference. My foot doesn't hurt anymore when I drive it.
WHAT ? Never bothered me. These hydraulics are great. Now, my 1964 VERT with a M22 Rock Crusher, if you got stuck in heavy traffic with that it would put your entire leg in pain. In fact I had been sore even the next day (and I was only 21 years old).
But that was then, and now is now. At 57 years old, I am not bothered by it. I don't appreciate the metal pedals when it rains (yes, my C5 is a daily driver out of choice (4 cars for the wife and me)), you shoes can get awful slippery on the pedals.
Hang in there Cedge, I'm not far behind but I bet I'm in a lot worse shape than you are!!
Btw, my foot doesn't even think of getting sore in the vette,, easiest clutch pedal I've ever used... and I've had my foot on plenty!!
Oh yeah, Cedge, I never drive naked (They'd put me in jail for disturbing the peace!) but I can and do drive barefoot!! Especially on long trips in the Vette!!
