Don't know if this post is appropriate in this section or not. But, what do you people use to protect your fenders when working/detailing under the hood? I've had my 97 Vette for just a short time, but the engine compartment could use a little touch-up. Just trying to avoid buying an expensive fender protector. Thanks.

I just use an old soft blanket if I'm doing a long job
I use these soft foam fender covers I got from a forum vendor years ago. They work great and still look new after many years of use. I also supplement them with cotton sheets and old cotton cloths on the bumper and in other areas.

I use the soft foam fender covers to and they work great. I think Mid America sells them for about $20.00 dollars each.

I use foam fender cover that I purchased from a forum vendor. I has the C5 logo. The cover works great and was about $19. Cheap insurance in my opinion.
I had my wife sew two large cotton towels together. They don't scratch and the extra padding offers that added layer of protection.
There are vendors that sell a soft backed vinyl front fascia/both fenders/cowl cover. That would provide the ultimate protection.
