I'm a new vette owner as well, and it is my daily driver. As a die hard import fan, I was in the market for a Supra, and when I couldn't find a decent one in my price range opted to go for the Vette. I like it a lot, and I even got an older one (2000 coupe) w/ 93k miles. Just had it dyno'd the other day it's still pulling very strong and drives like new.
Over all i'm very happy w/ it's reliablity, which was my main concern. Mine is lowered and its' a pain to drive around some places, but you'll get over that soon because the pay off is well worth it. The car is an attention ***** and everyday people are talking to me about, swapping stories about the old corvette they used to own.

The C5 makes a great daily driver - comfortable, good mileage, reliable. As for the snow, it can be done, but it can get to be a really scary experience if you are not careful. Plus if the snow gets past about 2-3 inches, no way I would want it out on the street. Best bet would be to have an old beater car for those days where the weather is nasty.
