Default Gear change

For those of you who have replaced the gears, how did you adjust the speedo for the gear change and how simple was it?

Most swap the ENTIRE rear carrier, not just the gears - there are only a few shops in the US which can successfully swap the gears and not end up w/ a whining rear end

For those of us who swap the entire carrier and thereby put in a carrier w/ different gears, there is a speed sensor located on the top of each carrier that determines speed - it's basically plug and play - no need to recalibrate or adjust anything.

I had a DTE 4.10 pumpkin transplanted into my '97 C5 and there was no Speedo recalibration necessary.

You're gonna love you're 4.10s btw!!!

If you put in any gears higher than 3.15 you will need to reprogram your computer for performance purposes.

Only on A4s no changes are needed on manuals.

Me too! With 3:42s The reprogram is needed to set shift points up and down. Its not a bigb deal and a tuner should do it for about $150 max.
