Not sure what the big deal would be. ANY work at all thats done on ANY car now has to be reported to carfax. Whoever does the work is required to do so by law, so If someone was curious as to why a car was painted a different color, a simple check would tell you.

This may be true to some extent...and it certainly goes a long way to protecting the consumer...but...there's always a way around these things and the shysters always seem to find them.
But that is not always the case. I bought my 99 as Sebring Silver and now it is charcoal grey--not becasue anything was wrong but because I like the color better and I have gotten nothing but compliments on my car and don't feel like I would have a problem selling it if I wanted to--which I don't but still....
im with u on this one. if u go with another GM color that was offered on the vette, id say it would affect it. if it was a custom color or at least one not offered on the vette at the time etc it should be ok because it would look as though there were more of a reason than just repainting it for "no" reason.
Most people woulnd`t buy a Vette that has been repainted, period...regardless of the reason the car is worth less money.
If you really want to customize the car with a new paint you need to pay big bucks for that paint job...arround $10000... anything less would be looking worse than the original.
The expensive part is in the labor....all body parts need to be stripped off of the car including the windshield. Parts then need to be painted separately than mounted back on car...lots of work....this is how the car is painted from the factory piece by piece then assembled together.
Puting masking tape arround the windshield and windows than spraying paint on a Corvette should be illegal....
Well Bruce---looks like it will be in the (or close to) the 60's come Wednesday. I'm gonna see if the garage will hold her til then instead of trying to find a place to put her--there will be new pics probably by that night
Can't wait to see it in person. By the way, mine looks exactly the same as your before picture, Sebring silver. I did put thin spoke 2000 wheels on it.

Wow , this sounds like Donny Baker......
Some day I WILL change the white on my vette , I hate white . I got my vette in trade for a rusted out classic Mini Pooper that I had so I didn't do any shopping , it just fell into my lap .
