Hey guys I just had a few questions, and was wondering if anyone might be able to help, and I did search this topic to death but there are just a few questions I still have lingering.
Well I want to buy some decent Jacking pucks, and the ones from Bavarian Autosports look good, now I want to get the thick Rectangular ones for added protection. I was wondering if anyone is running these pads full time, which I know you can and how they look on your Z. I saw the thread with them installed on a C6, but that doesn’t help me much, so I ask if these will look good for our C5 Z06, and not have any issues being installed. And yes I could just make some but I really want to leave them on the car permanently.
Thanks for any help, and here is the link to the actual pads.
I bought the round BMW pucks and leave them in all the time. Someone recently posted they bought the square ones, but they had to cut a corner off when they added the rocker savers...something to think about. I'm not sure if the round pucks would need to be cut or not. They easily snap into place and are not visible unless you get down on your knees.

I agree I've had mine in there for over a year. Comes in real handy at the track if you just want to lift one corner quick.
get the round ones. have a 02 Z06 and they work great. You cant tell they're on unless u look for them. And u dont need to wonder if the dealer used pucks when they lift your car.

Sorry guys, I linked the actual page with the product on it, but I guess it just linked to the home page instead. But yeah here is a thread with all the information on the circular pads:
My son has an M5 BMW. We use a two post lift in the garage to service both the BMW and my 04-Z06. We did not purchase any sort of blocks.
I checked with the Chevy dealer where I purchased my car and the tech said he simply uses rectangular steel blocks between the lifting points on the frame and the hoist.
My son had already made up some 2X4 blocks about 3" long and we put some carpet on the top. They work great for both the BMW and the Z06.
this raises a question ive been pondering even before i got my '02 Z06..... how to lift it! ive seen the write-up in the C06 FAQ on this forum. it says GM doesnt recommend the hockey pucks, and the post gives detailed info on building wheel ramps to drive the car upon (raising it 3-4 inches), then how to build jacking platforms that go underneath the crossmembers front and back. this seems great and all, but is it really necessary? my mechanic said he lifts using pads underneath the frame rails on both sides and has never had a problem.
so maybe this "hockey puck" method is really ok. it just seems to me that the front or back sides should be lifted together so as not to cause much chassis twisting. i'd have two jacks on both sides of the front, and lift them sequentially. actually now that i think about it... how would you ever be able to put jack stands anywhere unless you use wood blocks and put the stands underneath the "preferred" crossmember spots? sorry to sound stupid here... i guess i just need a good, safe, preferred, and easy way to get all 4 tires off the ground so i can do oil changes, etc. thanks!
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread, I was going to get these elsewhere for twice the price and saw this thread, ordered them, they have no logo and arrived well packed and quickly and I saved enough for a nice dinner for two at Cheeseburgers in Paradise and the gas to get there and get home!
