[Z06] check engine light

check engine light
check engine light came on twice in last two months, both o2 banks had lean mixture. They reset each time. It seems like it came on the second time after i hit the rev limit. Would this cause it? car is stock with blackwing air intake and filter. the first time it came on was after i cleaned the air filter.
When the light clears, does this mean the condition no longer exists?
What damage if any happens due to this condition in the engine?

I had the same thing happen when I installed the Halltech Stinger. I ignored it for as long as I could (1 week), then had a Synergy dyno tune my car to rid me of the lean condition..... I even picked up 15rwhp in the process
