I just installed my Honker two days ago and all I can say is WOW! I am so impressed with the design and overall quality of this product! The instructions were fantastic, the install was straight-forward (although removing the radiator shroud was a real PITA!), and the fitment and finish look like it came straight from the factory. The moment I started the engine I noticed a distinctive change in sound over the Twin Flow intake that it replaced. You can really hear the intake sucking in air from under the nose of the car and even the exhaust note sounds throatier. After taking it for a spirited drive I immediately noticed a SOTP improvement, especially how quick the throttle response is now. The motor revs more freely, especially above 4000 RPM's where it is much more eager and smoother. I was very apprehensive about the price, but after installing and experiencing this intake it was definately money well spent. Callaway really did their homework on this one and created an unbeatable product! Now I can't wait for long-tube headers and a dyno tune!
are you running the TI exhaust,or dids you mod that, too? i'm also perplexed as to why the callaway has an accordian air bridge, when the general consensus is that smooth is the way to go! i've been on the fence about doing this mod,and your critique is a really positive one.anybody else care to chime in??

I have the stock Ti's. My understanding is that Callaway used the accordian to permit a bit of flex in the system when the engine torques. You'll notice several members on this forum who have radiator shrouds that are bent to one side from this happening time and time again. From what I've researched, the "smooth" bellows doesn't make any noticeable power over the accordian unless you use forced induction.

I thought the same thing lol. I had the kooks LTs put on first, drove it for a few miles, then got the Honker put on the next day. But I remember a distinct power gain from both installs! I love that sound too when you roll the windows down a bit ... you can really hear that air coming in ... not like a SC or Turbo, but it's definitely audible

The inside of the accordian is a lot smoother than the outside. If you are on the fence just go for it. You won't regret it. It's a very high quality piece.
I haven't got around to installing mine yet, but I was looking through the directions and wondered if it is really necessary to get a rivet gun to install?

YES! all you need is a cheap one - took me 30-40 minutes to install.
the instructions are great, just follow them

Not being a smart alec, but, mine made the same noise and I discovered that the air pump hose was accidentally removed from the grommet in the housing. I simply taped mine up with a couple of pieces of gorilla grip tape.
I might add that I installed the Honker while vette was on the dyno. At the time, the Honker was the only modification to otherwise stock Z. I picked up 11 HP/13 torque.
