Default Fast 90 upgrade question....

Ok, so I'm off the fence about my head/cam swap. Going to lg motorsports, getting the g5x4 cam with the afr heads and all upgrades to support it....already have the thermostat, plugs, wires, and lg por headers. My question is....

Should I wait for the fast 90 intake and throttlebody, or get it at once. It's an additional 1225 bucks on top of the enormous head / cam / labor price. I'd like to wait, but worried I'd need a retune after the intake swap....

What yall think??
Scott.

You will need a retune - better to get it now

Somehow I know you were gonna chime in with that answer. Man, if I only have enough $$$ to do everything I want. Oh well, guess I'll save up for another month...

If you can afford to do it now, now would be the time. My car already had ported stock heads, cam, exhaust and other odds and ends. Installed a Fast 90MM intake and 90MM LS2 throttle body and the car stalled every time I pulled up to a stop, got it retuned and in the process of retuning we picked up an additional 22 RWHP. If possible would definately do it now.

Or don't get the FAST +TB at all. You will still make plenty of power with the G5X4 + AFRs

You know me man, if I don't get it....I'll still wonder what if I had....then end up having to get a retune...

Default Fast 90

The 1225 cost probably includes porting, I just bought the intake and TB from LG, had them port it for my L92 install.
Good luck.

Do you track your car often? Do you race a lot??? When I did my head cam package, I did not do the Fast90 set up...for me the 1,225 (give or take) was not worth 15-20HP...now if it was 30+ HP difference, then I might reconsider. I don't race my car that often, so day to day, it was not worth the cost.

If you race a lot, and go to the strip where every tenth counts, and every 10HP counts...then go for it now. Like the rest said, you would need it retuned if you wait and do it later.
