As most guys here have said, I'll say the same...do some "Real" mods to see the difference. Personally, I went with Blackwing Intake for about $225 from Ebay, with I consider real CHEAP mod. And it does help.
But to answer your question Tom Porter just gave us another tip. Now, Tom, can you plz tell us how to do it... Cuz its something I haven't done Yet !!!
The mods were easy. You will need a Dremel or die grinder to do this. I used both.
MAF sensor: I first removed the air screen from the intake side of the sensor. I ground away the 2-air foils that split the air around the sensor it self. After that I just bell mouthed both the intake and the exhaust side of both the halves, removing casting lines and the seat that was left where the screen was removed. I also polished everything after the grinding was complete. It took about 2hrs to do.
Throttle body: Basically is the same process except there are air ports that need to be modified. I installed 2pces of aluminum tubing where the air ports are, then filled the remaining cavity with JB weld. After the weld set up, I grinded and blended the JB weld and the tubing flush. Then bell mouthed the opening and polished the inside, staying away from the throttle blades.
I did a search on porting the throttle body and found several pictures and info on how to do this. Hope this helps.
Sure you can. The Corvette Tax only exists because people like you spend too much. I bought a Z06 last year, and within 2 months, had it running mid-11s with ebay headers/intakes/wheels. Shopping around is the key.

can i trouble you for a link or some pics. i am not sure of the key words
Replaced flowmaster exhaust with Titanium exhuast to reduce weight 25 pounds. I don't know about the horse power gained. Then I lost 25 myself so a major improve "all the way around". Two pretty good mods.
But it's all worthless without a Performance Hood Seal
I was amazed it took until reply #4 to get a response like this. You just can't ask a question like this without getting the same old recycled jokes over and over... I hope you get a real answer to your question.
My opinion is that one little thing may not add up to much but 5-6 little things? Its probably with a pony or two. I think those 5-6 think have a placebo effect on your brain to make you think your going faster. That has happened to me on cars in the past. Felt faster but the dyno says nope. The reality is the bigger more expensive mods will almost always give you more HP per dollar spent.
look in the parts for sale area (not just on this forum) and get some performance parts that mean something for a great price. Are you a DIY kind of person? save money there too!

In case you missed it... obviously, you did... I agreed with with H/C idea... and I choose to add a little levity... that offended you, so here ya go:
FWIW, your answer was vague at best... thanks for playing though
I can not believe that not one person stated the best mod money can buy. It will add at least 100 hp for every foot. You can beat ANY competition with the cursed rear wing spoiler. Just ask any FRONT wheel drive japanese car owner how the REAR wing spioler down force helps with FRONT wheel drive traction........

Well that's easy, it pushes down on the back so the motor doesn't have as much weight in the front to push.
No mods are cheap like people said if you looking for a significants gain. You can do the intake Zip tie mod that will help a little. Bypassing the throttle body is good anyway. Porting the MFA and throttle body does give you a hp gain you cant see it on the dyno do to insignificant airflow. Nitrous would be the best bank for you buck I would go with the NOS nozzle wet system 100hp shot that will be safe and if you want for an extra 300 you can get the timing tuner and bring the nitrous up to 150 but a tune will be nessasay. Rule of thumb 150hp nitrous shot should be around 6* retard of timing but not on all cars. the nos kit will run you about 1k. Headers and x-pipe with electric cut outs leaving the stack exhaust will save you about 500-1000 depending on the setup. A tune will run you around 450-500 and will really help out. I hope this helped.
